Sextant’s Caladoc is a grape hybrid of Grenache and Malbec sourced from our estate vineyard in the El Pomar District of Paso Robles. Sextant is extremely proud to be the first winery to import and certify these vines in the United States. The best traits of Grenache and Malbec are pressed into service to yield complexity, dimension, and depth. It features the signature raspberries, red currants, and strawberries of the former while retaining reminiscent notes of blackberries, cedar, and sweet tobacco of the latter. A lovely deep violet hue is graced with dried herbs and black tea on the nose. Interwoven tannins and rapt acidity make it a crossing of full-bodied goodness, texture, and flavor.
